Divisional Sales Manager

What you’ll be doing

In this varied role you will be working across three of our trade divisions to help maximise the sales and profitability across our online and digital publishing.

Working closely with these divisions, the online and digital sales team and our key customers in these channels, this is an opportunity to be at the very heart of selling our books in a key area of our business. The role includes input for key brands and authors, using analysis to help identify growth opportunities across our business.

Day-to-day the role would include attending key internal meetings, regular communication with customers and reporting back on how best for our divisions to work with them, as well as working with key stakeholders on shaping divisional online and digital sales strategy.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate for this role will be ready to take on the challenge of working across multiple divisions and with some of our biggest online customers. We are looking for someone who is able to work internally and with key external contacts to drive the best results for our authors and publishing. They would display ownership mentality in taking responsibility for their decisions and find opportunities to grow our sales.

In order to thrive in this role an interest in online and digital sales is essential, as is a sense of where we can use analysis to better understand our readers and retailers. Being able to take these findings and share them with the wider business is also required. The successful candidate will be able to handle a varied workload which they have the confidence to prioritise thanks to a strong commercial mind. Examples of a growth mindset should be on display from the successful candidate’s previous experience.

This role can be based at our London office, or at any of our new regional offices in Edinburgh, Newcastle, or Sheffield, with a blend of in-office (minimum 3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
