Editorial Assistant, Kyle Books - Octopus

Kyle Books, part of the Octopus Publishing Group, produces high quality illustrated books with superlative content in the areas of food and drink, healthy living, wellbeing, lifestyle, gift and crafts. We work with high profile authors, experts and brands to produce critically acclaimed and beautifully designed titles for an international audience.

What you’ll be doing

We are looking for an Editorial Assistant to support our editorial and publishing team.

Responsibilities will include general office administration, running our internal systems, processing contracts, dealing with author queries, compiling market research, writing sales copy for catalogues and title information sheets, and checking proofs. While the role sits within our editorial team, you will work across the business with colleagues from design, production, sales, marketing, PR and beyond.

Who we’re looking for

A minimum of 6 months’ office experience is desirable.  Some publishing experience would be an advantage, as would familiarity with Biblio.


To be successful you will be:

  • Motivated, enthusiastic and with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Highly organised with a meticulous eye for detail
  • Able to multitask and organise effectively
  • Confident with excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • A competent administrator with knowledge of Microsoft Word, InDesign and Excel

The role is based in our riverside London office on Victoria Embankment working as part of a friendly, enthusiastic team and working with colleagues from other departments within Octopus. The job offers a great way to learn about illustrated book publishing.
