We are looking to bring in the very best senior editorial talent who will help shape the future of Gollancz, working closely with the whole team to spot, commission and publish the very best SFF titles in the industry. You will actively seek a multitude of voices to represent the broadest possible audience to reach through your publishing, while driving the strategy of you list, identifying gaps and market trends.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a talented new Editorial Director to join us with a broad remit to commission across the full spectrum of Science Fiction and Fantasy. This is a rare opportunity to join our team at an exciting time of growth, to help shape the future of Gollancz and unlock new readers for our authors.

You will be:

  • An ambitious, creative and entrepreneurial thinker with a proven track record in discovering emerging talent and placing the reader first to deliver commercial success.
  • You may have experience already in publishing SFF or you may just be passionate about the genre and have worked in a complementary field 
  • Someone with an exciting vision for Gollancz, who is driven by commercial success and is excited to inspire and work with an ambitious team.
  • A person full of ideas for special editions, brand extension and direct to consumer strategies who will help extend Gollancz’s presence in the genre
