Octopus is a leading publisher of commercial non-fiction across a wide range of genres, from memoir to wellness and cookery. This is a dynamic time for our digital programme which is growing and expanding rapidly.
What you’ll be doing
This is an exciting opportunity to lead Octopus’s programme of digital products from acquisitions through publication and beyond, building a profitable e-book and audio list across both front list and back list titles and maximising digital opportunities.
Reporting to the Group Publishing Director, the successful candidate will direct all e-book and audio content creation and delivery across all Octopus imprints, with responsibility for delivering the digital budget. They will be involved in acquisitions decisions and will work closely with other departments including editorial, sales, marketing and rights to maximise the potential of our digital product. They will work with the senior team to set the strategy for our digital programme and will explore new opportunities in the market. They will manage relationships with external suppliers, negotiating contracts and deliverables, and ensure that the digital programme is delivered efficiently and effectively.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with e-book and audio production.
