This is an exciting opportunity to work in Little, Brown Book Group and with our International Sales Department managing our US import lists.

Our Import lists include titles from Hachette Book Group USA (Back Bay, Basic Books, Black Dog & Leventhal, Bold Type Books, Center Street, De Capo, Faith Words, Grand Central, Hachette Books, Little Brown US, Little Brown Young Readers, Moon Travel, Perseus, Public Affairs, Rick Steves, Running Press, Seal Press, twelve and Vanguard Press). You would also be responsible for New Harbinger.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting jointly to the International Sales Director and the Little, Brown Sales Director your role will be split.
You will be responsible for maximising sales of our imports to the UK market. Your key priority would be building and maintaining strong working relationships with both Hachette Book Group US and New Harbinger. You would also be working across several divisions – sales, editorial, marketing, publicity and production etc. You will identify key titles for the UK market and develop marketing and publicity opportunities for specific titles and authors. You will work alongside US and UK operation teams to ensure optimal metadata feeds and product information targeting UK and Ireland markets. Along with the UK inventory team, as well as your international counterparts, you would ensure we maintain high stock availability of 95% and prioritising stock across key channels and markets.
You will the primary support for the Little, Brown Sales Director and team, working closely with the key account team to maximise Little, Brown Sales. You will monitor and analyse sales and market data to feedback to key stakeholders and prepare information for reviews of customer business to identify issues and opportunities. You will champion brand authors and focus break through titles and supply sales information to other departments (editorial, marketing, publicity).
Who we’re looking for
Someone who is commercially astute and capable of in depth analysis and reporting.
Some international experience and knowledge of imports and the UK market would be ideal. We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills and ideally previous experience on working closely with marketing, publicity, and editorial colleagues.
We’re looking for a team player with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, an ability to multi-task and prioritise, and an enthusiasm for working in a fast-moving commercial environment.
The successful candidate will be committed to building internal and external relationships, supporting divisional strategy and beating sales budgets. Excellent Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and data analysis skills are essential.
