Key Account Manager, Hachette UK

This is an exciting opportunity to work in Little, Brown Book Group and with our International Sales Department managing our US import lists.

Our Import lists include titles from Hachette Book Group USA (Back Bay, Basic Books, Black Dog & Leventhal, Bold Type Books, Center Street, De Capo, Faith Words, Grand Central, Hachette Books, Little Brown US, Little Brown Young Readers, Moon Travel, Perseus, Public Affairs, Rick Steves, Running Press, Seal Press, twelve and Vanguard Press). You would also be responsible for New Harbinger.

Who we are looking for

Reporting jointly to the International Sales Director and the Little, Brown Sales Director your role will be split.

You will be responsible for maximising sales of our imports to the UK market. Your key priority would be maintaining strong working relationships with the import divisions – sales, editorial, marketing, publicity and production etc. You would identify key titles for the UK market and develop marketing and publicity opportunities for specific titles and authors. You will work alongside US and UK operation teams to ensure optimal metadata feeds and product information targeting UK and Ireland markets. Along with the UK inventory team, as well as your international counterparts, you would ensure we maintain high stock availability of 95% and prioritising stock across key channels and markets.

You will be responsible for management of selected UK key accounts for Little, Brown, as well as working closely with the divisional sales director on forward-looking sales and publishing strategy. You will be responsible for growing the sales across each of these accounts profitably by working closely with the wider Little, Brown team including editorial, marketing and publicity.

What we offer

Someone who is commercially astute and capable of in depth analysis and reporting.

Previous UK account management experience as well as someone who has a wide view of the UK market. The role also calls for divisional responsibility on strategy meetings and as such, we’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills and ideally previous experience on working closely with marketing, publicity and editorial colleagues.

We’re looking for a team player with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, an ability to multi-task and prioritise, and an enthusiasm for working in a fast-moving commercial environment.

The successful candidate will be committed to building internal and external relationships, supporting divisional strategy and beating sales budgets.

Excellent Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and data analysis skills are essential
