Marketing Assistant

What you’ll be doing

You’ll provide administrative assistance to the Marketing Team, to ensure that all processes and procedures are managed accurately and professionally to support the efficient running of the Marketing Department and provide support on creative marketing campaigns to help increase profile and sales.

You will work across the entire HCG list and supporting the whole Marketing team, reporting to the Marketing Director.

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for someone who really loves children’s and YA books and wants to throw themselves into learning how the marketing side of publishing works. You’ll be full of creative energy, thrive on working with brilliant authors, illustrators, brands and amazing ideas. You will be joining a friendly, collaborative team of skilled publicists and marketers to create award-winning and effective campaigns across a wider variety of titles, including some of the biggest and best authors of brands in children’s publishing. There are a few other things that are really important:

  • You’ll be really organized, and able to juggle lots of things all at once
  • You’ll know your way around Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom etc
  • You’ll be social media savvy
  • You’ll have a can-do attitude and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • You’ll be highly efficient, with a close eye for detail, and an excellent communicator
  • You’ll have an interest, and an awareness of, children’s books and brands
