What you’ll be doing
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PR Assistant to join the Hachette Children’s Group Publicity team, to support the PR team and assist the Group Marketing and Communications Director. This entry level role offers an exciting opportunity to gain invaluable experience at a leading children’s publisher.
We publish best-selling picture book, fiction and non-fiction authors and illustrators and licensed brands including Cressida Cowell, Kes Gray, Jim Field, Jessica Townsend, Onjali Raúf, Kiran Millwood Hargrave, Matthew Syed, Bryony Gordon, David Almond, Lauren Child, Patrice Lawrence, Dermot O’Leary, Francesca Simon, Alex T. Smith, Zanib Mian, Nadiya Hussain, Giles Andreae, Piers Torday, Rainbow Magic, Beast Quest and Pokémon.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for someone exceptionally organised, with meticulous attention to detail, to offer administrative support for the smooth running of the PR team as well as providing full confidential administrative support to the Group Marketing and Communications Director.
A passion for books and the media is essential and the ideal candidate will bring creativity and enthusiasm to the role. You will be a strong team player, liaising with multiple colleagues, with high-profile authors, illustrators, agents, licensors, journalists and booksellers, so you will need to be confident, with excellent communication and copywriting skills.
You will be responsible for providing general assistance in the PR department, managing invoices, supporting on internal communications and providing a customer service point of contact, including monitoring the ‘PR Team’ inbox; liaising with relevant teams to respond to queries; ordering, packing and mailing books; maintaining the media contacts database; managing the awards database; booking travel, accommodation and attending events, festivals and signings, as well as taking minutes, booking meeting rooms, organising and maintaining diaries and making appointments.
