What you’ll be doing
We are looking for a Senior Commissioning Editor to work on its reading list, Reading Champion. As part of a small and friendly team, the Senior Commissioning Editor will oversee a range of titles through the commissioning and writing phase in order to ensure the final product meets customers’ needs in terms of language, layout, navigation and pedagogy. You will work closely and constructively with the series consultants, authors and illustrators, ensuring that material is appropriate for the target age group.
Who we’re looking for
A proactive self-starter who is able to form excellent working relationships with a wide range of internal and external colleagues, be able to work on and deliver numerous projects simultaneously, and be able to manage your time and resources in the most efficient and effective way. You will have an excellent eye for detail as well as a commercial instinct, and you will be an adept and enthusiastic problem-solver. You will have a proven track record of working in a commissioning capacity for at least 2–3 years, have experience of working productively with authors and illustrators and have successfully adhered to strict publishing schedules.
A good knowledge of InDesign and Biblio is desirable, but not essential.
