Senior Editor (Parental Leave Cover), Octopus Publishing Group

What you’ll be doing

We have an opportunity for a Senior Editor parental leave cover, for a fixed term 12-month contract from May 2020. The successful candidate will project manage a wide range of illustrated and narrative non-fiction books in subject areas including wellness, health, food, drink, popular culture and popular science, and will work directly with the commissioning editors, authors, designers and picture researchers, managing all stages of the editorial process and ensuring that titles are produced to schedule and within budget.

Who we’re looking for

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of project managing both illustrated books as well as narrative non-fiction across a broad subject base for an international audience. You will need excellent organisational and communication skills, flexibility, adaptability, a strong visual sense and the ability to produce high-quality, accurate work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team. Fluent InDesign and Word skills are essential.
